Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands Study
October 13 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Pastor Blocki and Kathy will be opening their home for a bi-weekly study of the challenging and profoundly helpful book Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands, written by Paul David Tripp. Subtitle: People in Need of Change Helping People in Need of Change.
We might be relieved if God placed our sanctification only in the hands of trained professionals, but that is not his plan. Instead, through the ministry of every part of the body, the whole church will mature in Christ. In this book, Paul David Tripp helps us discover where change is needed in our own lives and the lives of others. Following the example of Jesus, Tripp reveals how to get to know people, and how to lovingly speak truth to them.
This study will be held in the summer/fall months, roughly bi-weekly, and will meet in 2 groups (one on Saturday and one on Sunday).
The Saturday study will begin at 5pm at the Blocki’s home, and last until 6:45pm. A light supper and childcare will be provided.
The Sunday study group will meet after the Adult Sunday School classes, starting with a light lunch.
Please speak to Pastor Martin or Kathy if you are interested in participating in this book study.
Read other encouragements to participate below!
“Tripp is a careful and skillful physician of the heart. He unites a loving heart with a mind trained to the Scriptures. This book is a great companion for pastors and counselors. It will guide anyone who wants to give real help to others, the saving help that is found in Christ’s redeeming work.” – Richard D. Phillips, author, Walking With God
“I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.” Romans 15:14 (ESV)
“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 (ESV)
Many in our congregation desire to be used of God to help others with life’s problems, but do not think they are ready or able to do so. This book study will help to convince you of the truth of Romans 15:14 and Ephesians 4:15-16!
