North Hills Blasts Past Christian Community to Advance to 2nd Round

Christian Community came out swinging, launching a 3-run homer in the first inning before North Hills came to bat. The Covenanters answered back though, with John scoring in the first and starting back-to-back run-scoring singles with Isaac in the 2nd. 4 straight hits to lead off the 3rd produced another run for North Hills, and 5 straight hits to lead off the 4th produced 2 more. In the 5th, Isaac blasted a 2-run home runs, helping North Hills to a 10-4 lead. Christian Community came back with 2 blasts of their own in the 6th, bringing the score to 10-8. The Covenanters launched another offensive in the bottom half however, with a 2-run double by John followed by a 2-run homer by Isaac again. North Hills took a 15-9 lead in the 9th, but almost lost it as Christian Community made some hits and found some holes. Jeff and the crew hung on though, striking out the final batter to give the Covenanters their first playoff victory as North Hills in over a decade. 26 fans came out to watch as the rain held off, and the blue banner was raised.
