Covenanters Defeat Christian Community For 1st Round Home Field

Tonight, these two teams squared off for home field advantage in next week’s playoff game between these same two teams. North Hills scored in the first inning for the 4th game in a row, as Evan led off with a triple and Isaac singled him home. Christian Community scored once in the first also, but that was all for the next several innings. Byron made his first start of the season and made it count, holding Christian Community to 2 runs through the first 6 full innings. North Hills got back on top in the 6th after a 2-run homerun by Isaac. Both teams scored in the 7th, as Jasmine (with her first hit), Evan, and Tracy Jr. combining to drive in 4 runs. Christian Community answered with 3 of their own in the 7th, including a homerun, but North Hills held on, capping it with another 2-run shot by Isaac in the 9th. A celebration at Hammer’s was enjoyed by the team, and the Covenanters will play host to Christian Community this coming Tuesday night.
