North Hills Holds On to Defeat Christian Community

Tonight’s game featured the comeback of the RP Singles Ministry. After giving up 2 runs in the top half of the first, 5 straight 2-out singles by the Covenanters in the bottom half gave North Hills a 4-2 lead. As the other team in blue, Christian Community fought back with men in scoring position every inning, and went back on top 6-5 in the 5th. North Hills came back in the bottom half with several more singles and 4 more runs. Another 4 straight singles to lead off the 7th inning, and a couple of hits after that gave the Covenanters an 11-7 lead. Jeff pitched a hard-fought game through 7, and Byron came on to pitch the 8th and 9th. Christian Community came back with 2 in the 8th, but the RP defense went on “lock down”, and held on for an 11-10 victory. Most of the 15-player crew tonight enjoyed post-game Hammer’s ice cream once more, and the blue banner was raised for the second week in a row.
