Elders in the church are called by God, and rewarded by God, to serve the people of God.
God's sovereignty means that he watches over His people and their actions in order to protect and prosper them.
Because obedience to God's Word is the path to blessedness and happiness, the Christian is to see the Word of God as his or her life and delight.
