Young Covenanter Team Wins First Non-Forfeit in Two Years

North Hills came out tonight with a solid young crew – a lineup with only 2 Covenanters over 25. Adam played his first game of the season and drove in the first run of this game. After a 2-run second inning from Gospel Fellowship and one more in the 3rd, Evan tied the game with a 2-run inside-the-park homerun. Jeff and the RP defense shut out Gospel Fellowship for the next 4 innings, while North Hills slowly built up an 8-3 lead. Gospel Fellowship came charging back in the 8th though, with 5 runs to tie the score at 8-8. Evan came through again in the bottom half of the inning, doubling home Spencer and Dave. Emerson drove in Evan for the Covenanters to take an 11-8 lead into the 9th. Jeff and company held down the fort, to give North Hills its first non-forfeit win as their own team since 2007. The blue banner was raised once more, and a good time at Hammer’s was enjoyed by all.
